Sound & Music Works Submission Guidelines
Submission Information
All submissions will be peer-reviewed to ensure quality and suitability.
Please upload your submission using the CMMR 2025 Microsoft CMT submission site, ensuring you select the ‘Sound and Music Works’ track.
Accepted submissions will be included in a programme of performances scheduled at CMMR 2025 and other venues during the conference.
Please note:
- Submissions are limited to one work per person/team.
- For the presentation of accepted works, the artist or at least one of the collaborators must register for the conference.
- The conference will be held in person, selected artists are required to come to London at their own expense.
- The artist must hold the copyright of submitted materials to be used in CMMR 2025.
Submission Instructions
In PDF format, please provide:
- Work title(s)
- Composer and performer name(s), affiliations, and contact information
- Composer / performer bio (100 words) including any URLs
- Short description (100–200 words)
- Format – please state the intended format for your submission (e.g. installation, performance, fixed media)
- Length – please state the ideal length of your performance (between 15 and 45 mins as a guide)
- A Technical Rider including stage plan, equipment/backline list, and spatial requirements (for discussion on acceptance)
Please include any links to pre-existing/relevant audio or video recordings in the PDF. Up to three files of additional supplementary material can be uploaded in .PDF, .mp3, .wav, .AIFF, .aac and .mp4 formats in the CMT submission site, limited to 250MB per file. To upload supplementary files, return to your CMT Author Console after submitting your main paper and click the “Upload Supplementary Material” link located in the “Actions” section of your submission details.
Various audio formats can be accommodated, including channel-based, object-based and Ambisonics work for live, fixed and installation submissions. Please provide as much detail as you can as part of your proposal, including technical requirements, in order that we may appropriately review them, and do our best to support their exhibition.
