Call for Regular Papers (Oral & Poster Presentation)

CMMR 2025 welcomes the submission of research papers focusing on the multidisciplinary intersection of sound, music, and computing.

Under this year’s theme, “Sound, Music: Space, Place,” we particularly encourage submissions that delve into the spatial and situated dimensions of sonic practice.

Special Sessions

In addition to the above topics, CMMR 2025 invites contributions to the following special sessions:

Regular Paper Types

CMMR 2025 accepts regular papers of the following types:

  • Original Research Papers: These should present novel research methods and their results.
  • Review Papers: These summarize the current state-of-the-art on a specific topic.
  • Position Papers: These offer and discuss an opinion or a vision on particular issues within the field.
  • Case Study Papers: These detail practical, real-world situations that contribute to existing knowledge.

Peer Review Process

All submissions will undergo single-blind peer review by at least two reviewers to ensure their quality and suitability for the conference. Authors of accepted papers are required to address reviewers’ comments in their camera-ready submission.

Presentation Format (Oral or Poster)

Authors may indicate their preferred presentation format (oral or poster) during submission. The conference Scientific Program Committee will make the final determination based on both author preference and reviewer recommendations, and this will be communicated after the review process.

Registration & In-Person Requirement

At least one author of each accepted paper is required to be registered for the symposium by the author registration deadline.

This year’s CMMR is an in-person conference, and all presenters are required to attend and present their work on site.

Proceedings

Accepted papers will be published under a Creative Commons License via a publicly-available repository service. Each paper will be assigned a persistent DOI.

Post-Proceedings

Continuing the tradition of previous CMMRs, extended versions of selected papers are planned for publication in Springer Verlag’s Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) Series. Papers will be chosen for inclusion based on the outcome of the peer-review process and their presentation at the conference.

Regular Paper Submission Guidelines

Please prepare and submit your paper according to the Regular Paper Submission Guidelines.
